1. Spicy foods
Indian dishes consist mainly of a variety of spices. Spices kindle the senses, which is precisely the opposite of what you require when trying to sleep. When you sleep, your body parts or organs slow down, and this does not allow the spice to digest correctly, which can lead to an upset stomach.
2. Ice Cream
Who doesn’t love a big bowl of ice cream for dessert after dinner? And if you had a bad day, this could become a container for the entire ice cube. But as comforting as it is, it can confuse your nerves, and it’s safe to say it devastates your body. The high sugar content of ice charges you and makes it difficult to fall asleep. The fat content also rests in your body at night as it does not give your body a chance to burn it off.
3. Pizza
You may be wondering how this is on the list if it is one of the Italians’ staples. How do you eat it all the time without problems? Well, the pizzas we have very different from the original ones. The pizzas filled with ingredients of all categories, sour tomatoes, fatty cheeses, and bread full of carbohydrates, ready to give your stomach a hard time. All of these ingredients or components give your stomach a hard work-out when you try to relax. So all pizza lovers try to make an Italian lunch out of it.
4. Celery
It is said to be one of the healthiest foods, correct? And it’s so low in calories. Wouldn’t that be the perfect snack? Not really! Celery is a natural diuretic. A diuretic is a substance that promotes urine production in the body. It means that you want to urinate more than usual when eating celery. If you don’t want to interrupt this restful sleep with several bathroom breaks, you should avoid celery sticks.
5. Heavy Proteins
Proteins are tremendous and a much-needed supplement for the body, but they’re also tough to digest. Eating a big amount of red meat or other heavy protein late at night sits on the stomach and is not properly digested. It makes it harder to fall asleep because you will feel bloated. If your diet requires you to have some protein in your dinner, try eating smaller proteins like fish, lentils, yogurt, etc. before bedtime.
6. Oatmeal
Oatmeal is sometimes a quick fix for dinner. And they don’t play with diet either. However, oats (and other cereals like bran, barley, etc.) are rich in insoluble fibers. These fibers slow down the digestive system and break in your stomach overnight due to a lack of exercise. This, in turn, leads to gasoline, making it an uncomfortable night and a terrible next day.
7. Soft Cooldrinks
Soft drinks and carbonated drinks contain a lot of sugar. And they may sense of taste good, but they don’t help your body in any way. Preferably, it is best to avoid them altogether, but especially before going to bed. Sugar and caffeine will speed up your system and keep you awake all night, and the chemicals will also cause gas and gas. As if that wasn’t enough, the liquid fills your bladder and makes repeated visits to the bathroom at night.
8. Fried Foods
Tasty food! Yum! But your stomach will growl at the thought. Deep-fried foods such as french fries, potato chips, pakoras, onion rings, etc. They are high in fat and take longer to digest. Not only that, but fat is also stored in your body when you sleep, as there is no way to burn it. Your stomach tries to digest harder, which can lead to cramps, gas, and even acid reflux. Not what you would call a quiet night!
